I realized my whole 'hidden gem' strategy was wrong after a perfect afternoon in a tiny town in Vermont called Grafton.
I used to just drive to a place, snap a few photos, and leave, but spending 4 hours just sitting on a bench by the river there, watching the light change, made me see that the real gem is the slow, quiet feeling you get, not just the checklist of sights.

Oh man, that sounds so peaceful. What was it about that specific spot by the river that finally made you slow down and just stay there? Was it something you saw, or just a feeling that hit you?

Damn, that's a good question. I've had moments like that too, where everything just clicks into place. Was there one thing that made you realize you could finally stop rushing?
