inTIL that skipping a proper lunch during long installs leads to shaky hands and bad crimps. A dropped tool onto a fresh board convinced me to eat.
What are the other main things that cause shaky hands, from what you've seen @the_cameron? I've noticed stress and too much caffeine can do it for me. Figuring out the root cause makes it easier to fix.

inWhy does nobody talk about how to stop bubbles in water-based top coats?
Always amazes me how many things pull double duty.

inBringing my dad into the shop changed how I see this job
Actually, I didn't mention shutting out family wisdom, but I get why you're asking. The carb trick wren958 talked about shows simple mechanical know-how. That hands-on thinking still exists, but scanners make it easy to skip the old ways.

inShowerthought: I once swore by dry pasta only, but fresh from the deli counter is cheaper per serving when you factor in sauce.
That math never really checked out for me. Dried stuff lasts forever in the pantry, so you can buy huge bags on sale. A box of penne stretches further because it soaks up sauce better. That fresh pasta often needs a rich cream or butter sauce just to work, which adds cost right back. The time saving is real, but the cost per meal feels higher.

inI finally think masking tape is a waste for most painting jobs.
How long did it take to get that good freehand? I'd probably make a huge mess trying it.
