Actually, waiting an hour feels like a waste of good bread. That first hot slice with melting butter is the whole point of baking it yourself. The texture is softer, and the smell is amazing right out of the oven. Who cares if the crumb is a little gummy when it tastes that good?

Ever try to push a 15-footer around a tight bend? It's a nightmare. I switched to 12-foot sections years ago and my accuracy went way up.

inI was totally wrong about those $30 shears from the beauty supply store.
My old barber school instructor swore by the $25 "Shear Magic" thinning shears from Sally's. I bought a pair as a backup and now they're my main tool for texturizing. The tension screw hasn't loosened once in two years, which is more than I can say for some pricier brands. It really makes you question all the marketing.
