inSpent my whole career chasing complex flavors, but these days I'm leaning towards salt, pepper, and a really good sear as the only essentials.
Man, I was the same way for years... always loading up steaks with garlic powder, onion powder, all that. Then I finally tried just a heavy dose of kosher salt and fresh cracked pepper on a ribeye. The pure beef flavor that came through totally changed my game.
