Weather always finds a way to mess with plans.

inWent to the library downtown and actually put my phone away for an hour
Yeah, and people also rode horses everywhere before cars. Doesn't mean I want to give up power steering.

inHad a suction line clog on the old 'Mississippi Queen' near Baton Rouge last Tuesday. The pressure gauge went from 30 psi to zero in about ten seconds.
Yikes, that's a violent pressure drop. Wonder if it was a solid mass of river silt or something weird like a tangled ball of fishing line and hydrilla weed. That sudden zero makes me think it was a total blockage, not just a slow build-up.

inPollen in dirt tells more stories than I thought
Remember that time they found corn pollen in a bog near my town? They went down about three feet and hit a layer full of it, right below some tree pollen. That told us exactly when farming started there, way before any written records. It's crazy how a bit of old mud can rewrite what we know about a place.

inThat weird stair landing in the old house on Maple Street took me a full day
My buddy redid his attic floor last year and it was a total mess. The boards were all different heights, like a wooden roller coaster. He tried using that self-leveling cement stuff first, which was a bad idea. It just ran into the cracks between the floorboards and made a bigger problem. He ended up doing what you did, sistering new joists and shimming for days. Old houses fight back every step of the way.
