inPSA: I bought a cheap hoof stand from an online auction and it snapped after two uses, costing me $85 and a whole morning.
Wait but sometimes that gamble is the whole point though. I mean yeah it might break fast, but you get to try a thing you couldn't afford otherwise. If it lasts a year, you won. Known brands are crazy overpriced just for the name. My time feels better spent chasing a deal than just accepting I'll never have nice stuff.

inPro tip: I tried using a regular socket on a Cummins ISX fuel line fitting and it was a comedy show
Actually @wood.zara, a pipe wrench can round it off more, so maybe try vise-grips first.

inJust read that the deepest recorded commercial dive on air was over 600 feet back in the 80s, which is insane.
Yeah, that part about it making you respect the old-school guys really hits home. I used to think all the modern tech made them seem less impressive, but facts like that prove how wrong I was. They were pushing limits with gear that seems basic now. That kind of dive on just air is a whole different level of nerve.

inA client in Denver told me my blowouts were too tight and it hurt her scalp, so I switched to a lower heat setting.
My stylist cranked the heat so high once I smelled burning hair.

inChanged my mind about using a string line for long runs after a job in Spokane.
What happened out there, a bad string day?
