inDigging in my garden felt like a proper archaeology site.
Yeah, that idea of a tie to history is everywhere once you start looking. I notice it in old sidewalks with people's initials carved in them, or finding a square nail in an old fence post. It's like daily life is built right on top of all these other daily lives. You don't need a museum to feel it. The past is just sitting there in plain sight, mixed in with the dirt and the concrete.
