inWarning: using an impact driver on rusted brake bleeder valves
Man I gotta disagree here. Impact drivers have their place on bleeders if you know what you're doing. You just gotta use them on the lowest setting and let the hammer do the work instead of forcing it. I've popped loose bleeder screws that were completely round on the outside using a small impact with a six point socket where hand tools just stripped them more. Plus you're way less likely to snap the whole thing off in the caliper if you keep it on low torque and give it quick bursts instead of cranking on it.

Yeah, people rush everything now. Quality's just a checkbox nobody actually checks.

inBought a $40 heat gun for lifting old varnish and it's been a total game changer
Haha that description is perfect. My old one was basically a chisel that I'd given up on sharpening, I just kept applying more elbow grease.

Did you hear about people using those to fish dropped screws out of engine bays, @avery629?

inMy estimate accuracy went from 60% to 90% in one month after I started measuring twice
Wait, you're snapping photos and drawing on them in a photo editor before you even leave the house? That's wild to me @susansingh, I barely remember to charge my laser. Do you actually edit the photos on your phone while you're standing there, or is that a home thing?
