Man, that really stinks... I had a similar thing happen with my instant pot when I was cooking split pea soup and forgot to deglaze the bottom. The whole lid blew off and plastered hot green goo across the cabinets and up onto the light fixture. Took me three passes with a scrub brush to get the dried bits off the ceiling tiles. Hope your landlord doesn't notice the chili stain like mine did with the pea soup...

120 degrees in the shade will kill anything with a lithium ion in it. My crew leaves their batteries in the truck and by noon they're cooked. Had a guy last summer toss a drill battery that was swelling up like a balloon. Phoenix heat doesn't play around.

Brought a friend along to test his new cheap pad from Target last summer, and he was on the ground by 2am in the middle of the Sierra foothills. He spent the rest of the night curled up on a pile of leaves under his car, just trying to get some warmth back. Your mileage may vary, but from what I saw, those budget pads are basically just fancy pool floats that can't handle real ground temps. The foam ones might work if you stack two of them together, but that kind of defeats the whole point of saving money.
