inMy local shop had a guy dressed as a full Batman villain for a Tuesday afternoon
Saw a post about a guy who brought a full lightsaber to a movie opening. Not a toy, like a custom built one with sound effects. He kept clashing with empty air during quiet scenes. Whole row was giving him the stink eye. Security finally asked him to put it away after he hit a seat.

inMy wife said my garage floor plan looked like a 'maze for mice' and it totally changed my layout.
My own wife called my shed a rodent funhouse.

inThe attic crawl space that went from a horror movie set to a clean run in a single day
Finding a two-foot stack of AOL CDs sounds about right (my parents' basement was basically a landfill for those things).

inHot take: I think we put too much trust in five star reviews
Totally agree with you @seanlewis, that's the best way to do it. I always go straight to the three star reviews... they usually have the real talk about a product's flaws without all the anger. Finding a review that points out a small issue but still likes the thing tells me the person is being honest. It saved me from buying a backpack that looked great but had a weird strap design everyone in the middle ratings mentioned.

inShowerthought: I thought our old sand reclamation unit was fine until we ran the numbers from the new one.
Yeah, that's a huge drop in binder use, congrats. We had a similar win when we finally upgraded our mixer. The old one was so inconsistent, we were constantly over-compensating with new sand and resin. Like charlieo29 said, it's all connected. Once the sand quality got steady, our whole process got way more predictable and we cut down on waste across the board. New gear can feel like a lateral move until you see the actual data.
